I am going to start tidying up the under side of the missus's td4. But whats the best the best stuff for treating the metal before I take the angle grinder to it? Looking on the internet at.rust converter but don't know which to use. Has any of you used anything decent to sort your Freelanders thanks [GALLERY=][/GALLERY][GALLERY=][/GALLERY]

Bilt hamber hydrate 80 is the best product IMO..

Followed up with Dinitrol products, can't go wrong with that combo..

Ok thanks been looking on internet trying to find shops can buy it from rather than ordering and waiting. Yeah I plan on getting as much ofthe rust of with the grinder and drill and brushes as can 1st.

I fear you'll go through the area in pic 1.
Welding will then be needed as it is near suspension mounts.
Looks like my V6 which was parked up near the coast!!!

Yeah that area is weakened and the other side aswell. And half way down on the driver's side the support between the box part of chassis to sill is rotten through. Iv been poking around with a pry bar and scrapping. Was only ment to be adjusting the the rear drums for the hand brake. I enjoy welding so it will be done before it's all painted

Near South Molton. North Devon.
Fantastic place to live!!
V6 came from Lynmouth on the coast.
Useful that you like welding!!

Oh very nice. A bit different views for me these days being in the Midlands. Yeah learnt to weld on my van as it was rotted years ago. Welded loads since even saved my son's bunk bed from going to the tip and the garage door that broke
