Rust hole in pass footwell

Grrrr.

Just discovered a hole in the corner of the passenger footwell next to the front of the bellhousing (by the clutch cylinder) in my Discovery 1. Its about the size of a 50p piece and would be difficult to get to (or see) with the engine in.

Anyway, as it is on the corner, would I have to fix it as a 'structural' failure for the MoT or could I clean it and fibreglass/fill it (i.e., bodge it)?

(I'll try and get a decent picture)

Well I would personally bodge it for the MOT and plan to repair it properly at some point.....some fibre glass and a few coats of underseal are normally enough to hide that type of corrosion!

A good plan...

A few minutes effort of styling some weld-lines into the filler is usually worth the effort too! :)
 
I went to look at Range Rover classic that had the chassis fibre glassed - very effective lookng it was, someone had taken the time to make it look proper. After we poked some holes in it, we found a large selection of porn pages had been used the stuff the void. Maybe as a bribe for the MOT man should he find the hole! haha
 
welcome to the club.my first disco that i nievely bought thinking it had minor rust needed the whole rear floor doing,both front foot wells and a suspension mount.bonus is im now a qualified welder (well nearly).chances are thats not all the rust you have.patch it for the test but do it before the winter as your carpets will get soaked and in turn rot the rest of the floor.
