Like a knob let disco 2 td5 auto run out of fuel put diesel in running crap now changed filter still running crap it's like a misfire any help would be very much appreciated thanks wilf
How do I crack the injectors it's not got pipe like normal diesel+1 ^^ if you ran it right out it will of sucked air in. Crack off injectors, have some one crank it while you shut them as fuel without bubbles appears.
Removed the little filter and like I said it is running first turn of the key but just sound like a misfire and as got no balls on setting offAir bleed valve? This is a little valve in the main filter housing nearest to chassis on the back... Cheap item to replace as well... It has a mesh filter when I looked at the one on my td5 it was clogged a bit, and made her more sharp after I replaced for new, unscrew filter two release air first
Okay then well in that case it's probably the pump, running them dry caused them to overheatRemoved the little filter and like I said it is running first turn of the key but just sound like a misfire and as got no balls on setting off
By the way easy to change on the Disco!Okay then well in that case it's probably the pump, running them dry caused them to overheat
I can hear the pump running and when I hold the top of the fuel filter can feel something pumpingBy the way easy to change on the Disco!
Pressure can be weakI can hear the pump running and when I hold the top of the fuel filter can feel something pumping
OK cheers will have to whip it out try a different one if not that any other ideas also when it was running well never got black smoke even when I floored itPressure can be weak
Didn't think you crack them just other people's adviceTD5 injectors are about 250 quid each and can't just be "cracked off" as they are in the head. You will probably need to follow the fuel purge routine described elsewhere on here but I doubt if there is any other damage as running out of fuel is no different to changing the fuel filter where the system loses pressure.
Cheers for the advice didn't think you could crack them would it run on just the low pressure because it still gets moving once movingit's amazing how many purges it can take, also the in tank pump is a 2 stage pump, low pressure to fuel filter, then returns and goes through higher pressure pump to engine, could be high side failed and low not got the gut's needed, injectors are none crackable as they are fed via a fuel gallery in the head, and you certainly don't want to crack that
Change pump filter cleaned tank out all sorted running better than ever thanks for adviceBy the way easy to change on the Disco!
