hi guys i think i know the answer to this but just want to double check, i had a wheel bearing replaced about 18 months ago. anyway lat weekend i did a full refurb of the front brakes, with new callipers/discs & pads. anyway after fitting the brakes i noticed i had a high pitched scraping noise from the drivers front wheel when reversing. there was also a light rubbing noise on cornering. it was only doing this with the weight of the car on the wheels as soon as i jacked it up the noise went. anyway stripped everything down and double checked and no sign of anything rubbing, put it back together and it was rubbing again, adjusted the back plates slightly which has improved it, but it's still there particularly when cornering. the only thing i have spotted which could be a problem and leading me to believe the wheel bearing could be failing in the hub itself, i have around a 5mm gap between the hub & the front of the hub dust seal (funnel shaped plate), where as the hub should be pressed on so it sits in the the lip on the front of the dust seal. i can't find any play in the bearing so wondering if i should just get the hub pressed in properly so it sits as is should or could the backplate have moved?
