To people who swim in this font of knowledge..
Can I make a defender RTC steering damper fit a p38, anyone done it ?
The roads round here are crap and I want a damper with a spring on it.

I am sure it could be made to fit with a bracket at spring end as the bush set up is different, but what difference it will make you can let us know.

I'm hoping to be able to let go of the steering wheel to eat my proper long french baguette while travelling on the m5..

Why do you want a return to centre damper? Not sure I understand the relationship to poor roads ???

My P38 stays steady while eating on M3.

If it wanders something else is wrong.

Could be setup or even just the tyres. Mine was pulling ever so slightly to the left. Swapped wheels over side to side and now it goes straight!

You can get a gas filled damper but as Paul says, you're just hiding the real issue.
