RRS gear shift not working

I just pulled up to park and suddenly found I couldn’t select any gear. The knob on the front of the selector appears not to be clicking. Any help would be appreciated it’s not parked in the best of places.

What model year? if it's an L494 you might need the repair kit LR144074 (SVR) or LR117072 (non-SVR)

If you're stuck, apparently you need a hair pin....

Switch it off with the handbrake on.

Friend of ours uses a Croquet hook to move the stick on her Merc.

It’s a 2014 5.0l. From the video it looks like there’s a replacement part for the selector that’s not too difficult to install. Thanks for the help guys.
