Have a problem with my rrc not getting power when driving or putting foot down have been told its the vacuum advance not working what does it look like and where is it on engine and can it be repaired, was told not to remove the disirbutor are they the same thing ? the old rotor arm and dizzy cap looked totaly messed up so replaced them but the rotor arm wont let the dizzy cap fit back on correctly seems to have moved up and wont go down far enough for me to refit the new dizzy cap.

You can check the function of the vac.adv unit very easily. Take the dizzy cap off and remove the thin hose on the top of the plenum - the hose goes to the vac. adv. unit. Suck the hose and you should see the dizzy base plate moving. Block the hose (with your tongue, finger - whatever) and check if it keeps the vacuum. If it is not moving and/or does not hold the vacuum for some time - renew the unit - or the hose as well, if IT is the problem. To renew it you probably need to take the dizzy off. At least I did. There could be other airleaks as well.

Buy an original rotor arm and dizzy cap from the main stealer - unless you can't find them anywhere else. Others are claimed to be crap.

Have you checked that all plugs are giving a spark?
