Hi newbie here, won’t start no fuel out of HP pump, what’s the voltage to the solenoid valve pump

Hi, I’ve got no start, turns over
Checked low fuel and okay
Plenty of pressure to the hp pump nothing coming out.
What’s the solenoid on the pump and what voltage should be on the terminals?
Ta

I'm assuming it's a fuel cut off solinoid, does it click when the ignition is turned on? Do you have any voltage at the connector? If it doesn't click and you have voltage one can assume the solinoid is faulty, you say terminals so perhaps one is a faulty earth, time for the multimeter. Photo of the offending part and terminals may help Rave may shed some light.

I’ve tried the plug, only two pins
And the voltage is only 15 mamps
And can’t hear a click.
I’ve got an old one of a burnout engine, you have to take the pump apart to remove the valve/ solenoid
But the one I’ve got was full of water. And all rusty, it doesn’t move when 12 volt is applied.
The firemen went overboard . Lol
Assume the voltage is from the ecu
What’s it do, ? Fuel
Cut off ? Not much on here about the v8 3.6 L fuel pump

Not a vehicle I've worked on personally,do you have Rave? Perhaps @Henry_b or @Mark Piercy can help I've tagged them for you, Welcome by the way.

Voltage is 15mamps? No such thing either you have volts or nothing. Checked fuses?

Your in the wrong forum for that motor this is a fantastic place but not many rrsports , how do you know you have lots of pressure at the pump ?
Usually with those engines if your lucky it's the belt on the back snapped.

If it's on the high pressure pump I think it's pulsed and not directly fed a current. The pulsing rate determines the open time in turn allows more or less fuel.

It should give some sign of life and maybe not a clear audible click. :)

Hi still a non starter.
Changed the HP fuel pump.
Came of a damaged breaker so guy said it ran before he broke it for spares.
I’ve got plenty of fuel at the pump
And injectors, it tries to start for two or three seconds,
I’ve replaced fuel rail press sensor twice.
Cut my 32 mm ring spanner in half
So good tip for someone, you can replace the sensor without taking the rail off.
Cleared all faults with mates reader
Now there’s no faults,
Fuel pressure reads 75 psi and goes to 5,000 and more when cranking.
I’ve shorted out fuel pump relay so it runs all the time,
Still nowt.
I put the mass air flow sensors back on cos it was showing as a fault.
I’ve checked the HP pump regulator o rings all okay on both hp pumps I now own. £160 lighter in pocket.
Still nothing, cranks well, on key.
I’ve fuel coming out of the Schrader valve.
All injectors readout says 1000.015
manifold absolute pressure says 13.92 psi. Off both manifolds.
any ideas ?

Can you get to the crank sensor plug and put a meter on it and check while cranking for a resistance change?
Any ecu comms or databus issues?
