I'm new here so forgive me if it's been asked before, or if I use the wrong descriptions! I bought a RR 3.9efi for my young lads recently. First day out the front diff shattered, blowing a hole in the diff pan. They put it up on ramps and started to strip it. Discovered they'll have to take the drive shafts off too which is a pain.
Most importantly, when they turned the propshaft by hand, it just dropped out of the transfer box. is this normal, or is something else broken here? It will pop back in, but there doesn't seem to be anything holding it.
Any advice, tips or video links very much appreciated!

The prop should not drop out of the transfer box, sounds like you have more damage than you think.
