My horn suddenly stopped working. I have checked all the usual suspects and everything is ok.
The only thing i haven't checked is the coupler, so my questions are:

1.How do i check if its the problem.
2.If it is the problem and needs replacing are any rover models the same.

Thanks

it may be the horns them self's but it is possible that the rotary couple is to blame and have you checked the fuse?, when you take the rotary coupler out turn the steering wheel so it is strait and when you look at the rotary coupler you will see a little white square that is in a little square window this must be in this position when putting it back or you will snap the cables. you need a continuity tester all testers should have this on. hope this helps

Be careful if messing with the steering wheel, air bags make a hell of a bang when they go off. Before you touch it disconnect the battery for at least 20 mins.
I broke the coupler on my MGF by messing with it while the wheel was off. I didn't centre it properly before refitting the wheel but it also brought on the airbag warning light.

After you disconnect the battery ( make sure lead is out of way) then turn on ignition key this discharges the system I was told this by a relation who is a mechanic It worked for me on a mates freelander but it's up to you if you feel safer waiting 20mins or do both wait then turn on ignition
Regards Trev .
