Does anyone have any experience with roof tents. There seems to be a big price difference and is there a second hand market for such things...Thanks
 
I have a Ventura. Had it for almost 8 years. Love it,

Have prices come down or is the one linked above a real bargain? When I was looking before I went to Morocco roof tents even second hand were over £1k so I went with a drop down tent instead that clips to the roof rack and then sits on the floor (so no poles) as that as a more civilised price

Dunno, I haven't looked for years but my last experience was as you have said.... I still have mine and would have sold it for over a grand......Keep in mind that one is in Liverpool though..... surprised it doesn't have someone still sleeping in it when they nicked it :)
 
I had all my gear from direst 4x4, tent hard shell, 270 degree wing, changing/shower tent. pricey but good quality.
Also had a venter trailer tent from south Africa sold last year. Amazing trailer & proper canvas tent.
