looks good to me, aye, yer want some of that 22mm pipe insulation round it , with a few cable ties, worked on mine,

am makin a fred dibnah stlye one fer the truck cab as iv got a bit of roof work to do for a few weeks, just a quick thing made of tube and welded up so ah can lift it on and off
 
had an old East Mids leccy board rack on me old 110. was made of 25mm box & used to carry telegraph poles into fields. It bolted to the windscreen mounts & bulkhead at the front & rear crossmember at the rear, and that was it. never made contact with any part of the roof. & had a roller full width across the back.
