Roof Lining Issue

Hi People,

I have just purchased a 1995 Discovery 300 TDi.

It does not have sunroofs, but the roof lining where the sunroofs should be has come unstuck on both of them.

Does anyone have any clever ideas how I can stick this back up without removing the entire lining?

I look forward to hearing from you soon, and thanks in advance for your help.

Thats what I was thinking of using, but I was trying to avoid removing the whole lining if I could.

Someone said about cutting the lining and spraying the adhesive but again, that would leave an unsightly line.

Bummer lol

Then you can enjoy the delights of being rained on inside the car, just like an old series LR.

I just got the staplegun out on my last disco and it worked a treat. Ok you can see the staples but it wasnt sagging anymore.
 
Why not try getting a can of spray adhesive where the nozzle is similar to a WD40 can, the one that comes with the small red tube attached. Then make tiny hole in roof lining approx same dia as red tube, at a convenient point central to the drop of the lining. Then attach red tube to spray adhesive nozzle, insert through hole and direct the spray where required, going around by re-positioning of the tube. Then ( in theory ) if adhesive takes ok, push lining back up, go over with small wallpaper roller, and lining should ( may ) re-adhere, and hole made previously should blend out.
 
I recommend a craft fabric hi-tack glue - ebay tacky glue - as it will not mark fabrics and is an excellent product. I'm going to inject this under my roof lining just as soon as the weather gets dryer. I plan to hold the lining in place using a sand filled sock covered in cling film!! jammed up against it until it dries - it doesn't take long.

I had tried that but the spray adhesive takes the sponginess out of the backing foam and leaves an indentation in the fabric, it also soaks through and stains the material too. I did mean spray adhesive and not contact adhesive as i had posted earlier on:doh:
