Does anyone know if you can buy a rear roof lining for my TD5 that doesn't have Alpine windows cut out ?

I don't partcularly want to install the windows and the front roof lining is good.

OEM Developments seem ideal http://www.oemdevelopments.co.uk/ but they don't reply to phone, facebook or mail so I assume they've gone bust.

Masai seem to be super expensive.

Lasalle do rears but it isn't compatible with the standard front and people seem to think it has a strange finish.

Simmonites only do them with the windows cut out

Someone must do a roof lining without windows and not a ridicukous price. Any help greatly appreciated !

I’ve been looking for rooflining for my 90 which LRO doesn’t have alpine windows. The only suggestions I could see are to buy the rear section of a 110 headlining or make one, which some have done on here. But otherwise, I haven’t found one that didn’t have window cut-outs.

I have enquired about having the Alpine windows fitted but they will sit slighlty proud as the standard roof and windows are recessed. Most fitters who will do them seem to advise against it !

Will the rear section of the 110 fit then ?

The rear section looks like it will fit if it’s the headlining that fits in three sections. I haven’t measured one myself though, but it looks the same size.

I've been told they are different sizes so that idea is out of the window ! Well it would be if I had an Alpinewindow !!!

Your other option is to just fit a roof lining that has the cut out for alpine windows and not fit the windows! that is what I have done on my 110. I have a hardtop but fitted a station wagon roof lining. the small recesses for the alpine window in the roof lining against the plain roof do not cause any issues and was a far better option than fitting alpine windows which would then leak!

I was thinking a similar thing. I was wondering about getting some dark Perspex to fill the gaps in to make them look like windows ! Or just get some material and fill the gap in. Cheaper than windows.

or do what I did and just leave the gaps with nothing
It is not that noticeable, I will try and get a photo in the morning for you.

I did the same. There is no factory rear lining for a 90 without the window apertures as hard-tops never had lined rear roofs. So mine just has gaps.

Not sure what you mean about alpine windows sitting proud. The rubber sticks out a few mm but there’s no difference in that respect between a normal roof and one with the cutouts except for the holes themselves.

Evidently the factory roofs have a recess where the window sits and the seal sits slightly proud. A number of fitters have told me if they are fitted to my roof they will stick out a bit. That's what I'm being told anyway ?!

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you and apologies for the poor quality photographs but it was not fully light when I left for work this morning. Please see the below showing my 110 hardtop with no alpine windows fitted with a station wagon full length roof lining. The gaps are not that obvious. And other than showing the scorched patch where I had a battery fire a few years ago and burnt out the interior do not look that bad in my opinion.

That's brillaint thanks for taking the time. It does look OK actually. I was thinking of putting some grey cloth on the roof where the windows should be and then it would be even less noticable. I'm going for that solution after seeing yours. Decison made ! Cheers.

If yours is cleaner and smarter than mine some cloth behind would probably be better than bare roof, but none of mine is winning any beauty pageants so I left it as is.
