My roof lining has sagged too much and had to get binned.

Now I have recently out thermal lining and Ali foil tape across the back roof and sides.

Not got funds for la salles at the mo so thinking a carpet option. What type are best and also will it bond with the adhesive to the insulation stuff or all just fall off and cause a big mess in a day or so. The insulation been up about three weeks.

Your help would be appreciated as could get it cracked this weekend while the misses is away!

Thanks

Justin

To add I have lots of 3mm rubber matting on a role would that work as would match my floor mats I custom made....

You could always use the 4mm thermal lining stuff that they put on walls and under laminate/lino flooring, as it works just as well. ;);)

thin cheap foam backed cord carpet from carpet right or such about £3 a metre and a can of evo stick.... get spray on as it goes a lot further than the paint on stuff... £30 all in

or 15mm foam carpet underlay ... lightweight and plastic coating on both sides make it very easy to stick on..... one big roll @ £20 has done my entire 110... seat box, floors, bulkhead, door panels etc etc and still plenty left

Only use closed cell foam or you will end up with a soggy mess.

no prob lining the roof ... never suffered from a soggy mess as all the leaks are from the gutter / side join or lower... unless u have a sunroof in which case buy a wetsuit :)

That looks very good indeed.

I have quite a bit of lino left over, I am considering sticking inside doors and on other panels before I stick carpet on. Hopefully it will deaden some vibration.

Looking to do the same where did you get it from? cheers:D

I order some foam backed cheap carpet and got my adhesive ready, should be able to out up Wednesday after postman brings it.

Now is it best to remove some of the thermal bubble wrap type insulation stuff and aluminium tape so the carpet can stick onto this but also better to the roof or will it be just fine over the top. Trying to avoid it just falling off and taking the insulation with it!

bought a 30sqm roll of foam from an online company for around £20 ... ebay was far more expensive for same stuff... afraid it was a while ago though so cant remember company name...

as for the condensation comment?? condensation only forms on the open surface of cold metal... line the roof and you don't suffer condensation on the roof... itll move to the windscreen n windows lol .... the 110 roof pic was 3 years ago and its still dry n perfect

cheers steve

It was mentioned to me elsewhere that aero board type insulation could be good especially if covering the panels with ply or other sturdier material. Any body try this? Really cheap and easily worked with I'd imagine.
