Roof bars - factory fit option?

Hi all,

Well, my Discovery doesn't have the standard roofbars (the ones that run front to back, either side). Can these be fitted outside of a landrover dealership, and if so, any suggestions as to how easy it is?

I want a roof rack (for my kayak), but do not want the ones that fit to the guttering, I've seen the mess the last owner made of the guttering area, from scratching the blazes out of the front and rear attachment points! I spent ages touching the scratches up, and I've yet to rub them back in!

they are a factory fit option but any good mechanic(like me) can fit a second hans set off a scrap disco. you then need to purchase the cross bars as these are as rare as hend teeth second hand.hope this helps

I'm guessing that it involves drilling, sealing, etc. Oh well, pipe dream I guess.....
