Does anyone know what it takes to transfer parts of the steering wheel to the right on the left side of the Land Rover Freelander? Do you need another mechanism to control or can be a mechanism rotates the wheel to the left side? What I saw on this type can be done without problems, but reparation is important to me that I need something more of the parts except the wiper?

think you will need a new dash, pedals moving across with all the pipe work and cylinders then anything on the otherside will need moving over, seems like a hell of a lot of work though:rolleyes:

I am interested if anyone has the serial numbers of the mechanism for the steering wheel left and right wheel. (Steering rack, or how to call in Serbia - lath wheel) in order to compare whether they are the same. I know I should change the brake pipes and hoses for heating inside the cabin behind the cockpit, the wiper mechanism can be used only to not edit carrier.

Try searching the UK parts suppliers & see if they can provide part numbers, maybe even email some of them - especially those in the export business.

ffs give up mate an buy a lefty, an save all that aggro :welcome2:

I have been looking at the dash, and also noticed that it is symmetrical. Like the picture suggests you can 'simply' move some units around on the dash.

The hard part would be moving the pedals and all kind of wiring for the dash etc.

The good part is that the engine bay is large enough to mess around, well at least in my 1.8 :)

If you do take it apart and convert it, make a LOT of pictures of the entire process!!! (and then show them to us!) :)

Dude, email me,

i have a right hand drive and would like a left,

i guess we can make a happy parts trade in both way :D

Forget it!!!!!

Yes the dash is the same for left and right hand drive but the bulkhead is not!

The steering column mounts are welded to the bulkhead, the left side of the bulkhead is different to the right, the rack mounts are different side to side so LHD rack will not fit a RHD bulkhead.
Unless you're a competent metal worker/fabricator then flog it and buy a left hooker.
