Hi All.

It looks like iv'e lost the reverse lights on my 03 FL. Bulbs seem ok but it was getting dark so, would two blow? And if so, why? Fuses don't look blown.
Any advice welcome.

Cheers.

I haven't even got a reverse light  .... I put on the rear working lamps if I want to warn someone... :D - 'snot part of the MoT.

Prolly yer switch though.

There are 3 different switch positions depending on which engine you have and whether it is manual or auto.

Petrol engine rev switch is on the top of the g/box.

Diesel manual is on the bottom.

Auto is underneath the selector mechanism I believe, accessible from inside.

Go on then i've got me manual out!
Getrag 282 g/b screwed into the bottom of the casing
PG1 g/b screwed into the top of the casing
Paynes manual says on both you have to remove the undertray to gain access, bugger!!!!!!

MULDERKE,

I'd suggest you take off the lens covers and really check for corrosion within the bulb holder and the connection tip of the bulb. Once the wetter weather sets in it's easy for a high resistance connection to occur. It may well be that one lamp had failed already, but the problem only became obvious when the other went.
At least as a first attempt at clearing it's easier than crawling around the gearbox.

Good luck,

Andy

AH ya got one them there remote manuals :D

Fair play, if its only reverse lights ya can do wi out em for a bit, or shine a torch over yer shoulder.

What happened wi this Mulderke?

Well not a lot. Managed to get it over a pit and located the switch, on looking there does not seem to be anything loose. give the connectors a clean and then checked the bulb holders and nothing a miss there. A new switch needed maybe?
Since my look over they have worked intermittently so must have disturbed some thing.
Any advice welcome

Cheers

If you've been waggling n tuggin at the wires, it sounds like a bad connection.
Finding where it is could be a problem.
