Hello all other Suffering Sods,
I have a landy with Raleigh fabric and its starting to become a bit thread bare. Raleigh fabric seems to be nigh on impossible to get hold of for not an extortionate amount of money.
So I've decided I want to be a bit of masochist. I want to find a similar fabric, or a fabric I quite like, and make my own seat covers.
Does anyone know of/have some patterns to make them off?
Many thanks in advance!!

If you have the skills to do the job go for it, however recon the way to get pattern would be to take apart carefully a seat cover, as don't see any commercial makers will supply you their stuff.

Will Trickett always pulls the sewing machine out to do minor repairs on Flippin Bangers. I guess getting hold of a good machine is the key, then practice makes perfect.
I've got (well my mother has) a sewing machine that should do the job....Practice it is then!!

It will be a bit of an experiment, I don't have a huge amount of experience with upholstery. i thought it might be an interesting way to cut my teeth...I'm sure mother will be over my shoulder telling me I'm doing it wrong!! I didn't exactly want to take the current upholstery apart more than I have to but this is looking more and more likely at the moment. The actual shapes look quite simple though which is proberly whishful thinking...I must be mad!!

don't know where you are in the country but if you are just going to cut them apart to make a pattern anyway you can get some second hand seats fairly cheaply if you are not fussed about condition: LINK (not my ad btw)

Thats a good idea!! I could make a pattern off a cheap gash set of chairs. Thanks Dag
