Is the wiring loom in place to retro fit spotlights into the bumper of my 2019 vogue that has not already had lights fitted. If not what will I need to do this.
Regards
Ian
4.4v8 diesel auto.

Spotlights? Do you mean the front fog lights? The early harness' will have had all connectors fitted but its unlikely on a 2019 - and yes, as Datatek suspects, there will need to be changes made to the software, along with a new steering column switch.

Whilst a dealer will be able to supply & fit the required components, JLR will not provide them with an engineering access code to carry out a specification change to the CCF of the vehicle.
There are ways around it, but none of which will a dealer want to be involved in. There are plenty of independent LR 'specialists' that should be able to, or at least point you towards someone that can. If you're at all competent with computers, have a read of this thread https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-ro...ted-feel-free-to-add-experiences-help.365631/

Yes thats what I've been told I need to find somebody in the Derby area that can sort it. I would do the fitting and wiring, be just the set up side. Mad isn't it years ago fitting of simple spotlights to cars that didn't have them was straight forward. Times change. Thanks for your reply. 👍

I used to just wire 'em to the main beams.;)

They're not spotlights though, they're front fog lights - and subject to specific 'construction & use' regs.

Yes I know, on the occasion I mentioned they Were spotlights and, in those days there were no ecus to malfunction because they didn't like any alterations to wiring etc.

The trouble with wiring them into the main beam was it'd quite often burn out the contacts in the steering column switch as relays were considered 'the work of the devil', the switches themselves were often made by Lucas, Prince of darkness and finally, most 55W were quickly swapped out for 100W Halogens, shortening the likelihood of failure time by about 80% - and of course, no-one fitted the isolation switch as required in the C&U regs....

Edit: I think the most spectacular one I came across was a Marina van of all things, with a full Cibie array of rally lights up front - all wired into the high beam, at night there was a visible, audible and ozone-creating smellable arcing from the switch which needed a few on-off-on's until the contacts found an unburnt area to pass the harness-warming amps through.... Needless to say, the fuse had been replaced with a 7/16" threaded version!.
