Morning all,

Hope you’re all having a good bank holiday in this beautiful sun!

Does anyone know how easy it is to retro fit cruise control to a Facelift D2? Is it as simple as fit and plug in the controls and use nanocom to tell it that it now has cruise control or is there something else that needs doing?
Thanks,

James.

@Spot1 Hello James.
Yes, the job is dead easy, I've just done it on mine.
It is just a case of getting hold of the switches, the binnacle push button and the steering wheel controls, cutting the appropriate hole in the steering wheel cowl and fitting the switches. All the wiring is there and it's simply plug-n-play. No need to get the Nanocom out.
Your major problem is really getting hold of the switches. You can source them individually as cheap as you can or be prepared to pay about a hundred quid or so for the set of new switches with the associated hardware to fasten the steering wheel one in place.
On the safety side, you will need to remove the driver's SRS airbag and consequently many people say "disconnect the battery and wait half an hour". I had left the car overnight and before I started I just pulled fuse F35 on the internal fuseboard.
The set of switches I bought also contained a little template so placing the hole in the steering wheel cowl was both easy and accurate.

I plan to do this on mine as well. Do you know if ALL D2s are prepared for this or could be some which are not pre-wired?

Excellent! Thank you for the info, that’s great. The D2 I’m now looking at buying doesn’t have CC but now I know that is easy to rectify then it’s one less reason not to but it.

If you pull the blank switch panel out where the CC switch goes (above the fuel flap switch) you should see the connector. Did my 2004 Landmark
