Respray ?

Why not go ask a local paint shop...? Prices vary enormously from region to region, same with calibre of work.

Usually do my own spraying but the old lungs wont stand for it any more, that and the fact I don't have the proper facilities any more.
Could prep it ready for masking and paint and would be hoping for a price of less than 250 inc paint, is that wishful thinking ?

Assuming 250 gold bars!!

Have friend who's a first rate paint sprayer/panel beater/body specialist, he won't take on any respray for less that £5k
Last landy I did cost me £30 in paint and some bits like wet and dry, masking tape and tack cloths
Assuming it would take a professional a couple of days to prep and stick two or three coats on I think 5k is a rip off no matter how good the finish is, a good painter will do a good job and have pride in what he's done, the labour is the biggest cost and assuming 1k for labour and some towards premesis rent etc then the profit is three months wages !!

He specialises in other cars, not Land Rovers. Think historics...Jaguars, Astons, Alfa et al. And one cannot live on £1k a month in this neck of the woods.

I would hazard a guess railway arch joe is going to be after 1k minimum, proper paintshop twice that at least!

I think the overheads of a modern workshop would scare you.

As a rough guide, budget for £200 per panel. So a 90 would be about £1800/£2000. That’s maybe went up somewhat recently.

To paint properly £200 won't even pay for materials. I've recently sprayed 3x new doors, bonnet centre checker plate and 5x wolf wheels. I'm lucky in that I have a stock of sanding paper, surf board kit, Apollo 1200 turbo sprayer et al so can always spray up quite quickly. But good quality primers and paints cost. Of course, one could always go the tractor paint all approach. Ultimately, you get what you pay for.

@landowner , lungs tired why not buy and actively use good quality twin filtered masks like the Gerson 2k disposables. They'll cost you money but are best on the market to save your health https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/164944570954?hash=item2667766a4a:g:4RAAAOSwoHlgsRQF

I painted a 90 in tractor enamel which isn't that cheap, cost 50 quid for paint plus another 50 for primer, thinners etc.., good quality paint isn't that expensive, the cost is in the prep and thinners etc. I painted my Audi 80 a few years ago for not much more than the cost of the paint etc, the extra few thousand must be labour I would think, it's not that difficult I did it for a living for about six months till I was fed up with the headaches and getting high on thinner fumes :):)

Then that’s the answer

Which is why you need proper kit, which costs money.

Didn't get the proper kit for any job years ago, I even worked with asbestos without mask or gloves etc, lucky to be still alive really :D:D

I think it is the same in all industries.
We used to have asbesots brakes and clutches, worst of all used to blow the dust out with an airline, and use an angle grinder to clean the glaze off the brake shoes!
