Reset Rear Wiper

Hi All,

In the snow last winter, my rear wiper became stuck half way up the window. Whilst moving the car on the driveway, I wiped the front with the car in reverse, which activate the rear wiper. The rear wiper got stopped by the snow.

Now that the rear wiper is neither at the top of it travel, nor is it in the parked position, when i turn it on, nothing happens.

Also, as the wiper is not parked, I cannot open the window in the tailgate. Even though the glass does move to open the tailgate itself.

Is there a way to get the CEM to drive the wiper to back to parked position, without stripping the back door down?

Can't you just take it off and set it? That's what I did. Off with the wheel and bracket then you get to it. 20 min job.

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately is more than just moving the arm around on the shaft.

The mechanism isn't sat on the parked micro switch, so the CEM won't start the wiper or allow the window to be opened.

Also since the wiper mechanism will never get to the top position microswith, it has no way to re-park.

Use http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f9/self-test-mode-freelander-1-diagnostics-124575.html (post 10) to force the rear window down, and activate the lock to open the tailgate door. You can then get access to play with the wiper.
