I've searched and searched and for the life of me I can't find a write up on this anywhere. I need to replace the rear tub support (the long W shaped rail that bolts the rear of the tub to the crossmember). I've got all bolts and rivets out that I can see but can't figure out how to remove.
Can anyone offer any advice? Thanks in advance.

I can not picture in my mind what item you mean. All tubs I have seen are fixed by the rear edge bolted to tabs on the top edge of the rear cross member.
Unless a Hicap ?

OK...never had to remove that piece. I believe it attaches to the wings somehow as well as the crossmember - have you located any such fittings?

All bolts along the crossmember are out, as well as the rivets that go through it from the door thresh and seal. There's two rear wing supports that should probably be attached to it but those are corroded away too so it's not still fixed there. The only place I can see is the rear of the floor but I can't figure out how it's still attached, it's not spot welded to the floor is it?

Can't say for sure but wouldn't have thought so. Maybe just years of "stick"?
Someone else may wander along in time....is a holiday apparently!
:)

Think I've got it sorted, it's spot welded to the very rear of the floor so a chisel, lump hammer and angle grinder is currently being used to get it off. I shall post pics when it's out for anyone interested, theres not a lot left where it bolts to the crossmember underneath the rear quarter panels.

So here you are, this is the part that was rotten and you can see how there's literally nothing left around the crossmember mounting points. Only pain in the arse was that because of the length of it I had to cut it in half to get it out so now how do i get the new one in?! Do I remove the rear quarter panels, or do I cut a small hole on the left side of the tub and just patch it?

As the only other fixings for the tub are up at the front it may well be possible to jack it up just enough to slip the new part in.

Are you sure? It's a 110 so there's some outriggers further back which are bolted onto the tub, just in front of the rear shocks. After that though there doesn't seem to be anything

Looking at the pics, i cant believe you couldn't "persuade " that in from underneath/behind;)

You gonna spot weld it back to the tub? if so why not just cut the new 1 in half (suitable place) and tack it back up with a bit of clean up it wouldn't show.

They're aluminium so no can do I'm afraid. I'll either rivet it back onto the rear of the floor or screw it down along with the door thresh. Other than that point and the corner stays underneath it didn't seem to be permanently affixed to the tub anywhere else. I may try to tease the tub up and see how much room I've got but then I risk pushing everything else up with it like the sides and roof etc...

Ah LWB, take bolts out of outriggers and loosen wind screen brackets. A lift of say 2" at the back would result in little movement at the front loosening tub to hard top bolts would free it up more.

Fortunately I've got the old fashioned hinges fitted to the windscreen so that's not an issue. I can pretty much guarantee that the bolts and probably the brackets in the outriggers will turn to dust if I try to remove them but lifting it is much more preferable to my other options. If i remove the bolts from the rear most outrigger brackets and undo the windscreen hinge bolts is it simply a case of jacking it up enough at the very back and lifting the tub?

More or less I recon. The only time I have done it was with a 88 series, after fitting new rear cross member I lifted the rear tub just enough to get to do the top welds.
Doors open and go slowly listening for any straining noise's You should only have to lift a little. Cheers.
