I've just discoverd the dreaded oil in the ECU plug, so I am thinking of replacing the injector harness.
I've been reading up on this and I have a few questions to anyone who can help me.

1. While I have the rocker cover off is it worth replacing the gasket as well? It seems to make sense but I have only seen one person metion it.

2. Some people suggest adding an oil resitant sealant to the connector shell of the new harness. Since I haven't bought the new bit yet. Is this nessacary or easy to do?

3. Is there any particular solvent cleaner or tecnique for cleaning the ECU plug?

Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

1) I decided to change mine but tbh it's down to personal choice.

2) I decided against it as the new harness should be sufficient so didn't bother.

3) I use carb cleaner and pry the white plastic insert out with a small screwdriver to aid cleaning. I hold a big wad of blue roll (kitchen roll is fine) under the connected to soak up the oil and cleaner and then leave both the plug and Ecu to drain onto it until I'm happy that they are now dry and ready to be put back together.

Cheers Ratty, I'll probs change teh gasket then. I was having a look through the old paper work for the 90 and I discovered that the harness has been changed in the past. So the oil in the ECU might be old. But I'm going to have a look any way.

You could just clean the red plug out again. I have mine another clean again yesterday. There was only a small amount if oil in it since I changed my injector loom last year.
