Well, I've got a new heater hose and jubilee clips coming in the post. Removing the old hose seems hard work as it's a rigid "formed" hose and not flexible. In order to remove it from between the valve and the pipe do you loosen the nut on the backet securing the pipe to move the pipe away and thus allow the hose to be removed.

Sorry if this seems obvious to some of you. I googled it first but couldn't find the answer.

Hacksaw off the clip, you might need to saw off the pipe if it's gone too hard to slide off. The rigid pipe bracket is secured to the rocker cover bolt - just remove the bolt to remove the pipe.

If your engine is working, run it up to normal temperature and that should soften the pipe sufficiently to get it off.

Had to do that on my Series as it wouldn't come off any other way!!

New heater hose arrived and we seem to be back in business. I used the truck this afternoon, got up to temperature and there don't seem to be any leaks, so fingers crossed. Hopefully that and the new radiator hose have solved the problem. Pleased!
