Replacement connector for wiring loom

The connector to the reversing light lamp holder on my TD5 has rusted and busted (see pics)...

The pin rusted off the lamp holder and stuck in the connector.

I can get a new lamp holder (black part) from a dealer, but they can't supply the connector on the wirning loom (the blue bit). Anyone know where I can get a replacement?

What else can I try if I can't get a new connector (short of soldering the wires direct to the pins on a new lamp holder)?

I think I can help you there

Scrappy. Cut the connector off with a decent tail and piece it in to your existing loom.

Solder and heatshrink it when you join it, no twisted wires or CHOCBLOCK!

yup - why do the job properly when yu can bodge it?

He did ask what else he could do if he could not get hold of a new connector ......

Do I sense you have something up your sleeve MHM? Is there a way to split the connector and remove the rusted pin????

It's more likely to be under his hat.:doh:

I can supply new connectors, pins and even come and crimp them on .
