According to microcat, the petrol IRD has a harmonic damper fitted to the back of it. Could be that. Mick.

I've bought and am waiting for a new IRD and VCU to arrive. Should be next week sometime. Got any useful tips or shortcuts or bewares before I kill meself. How long did it take you? Any info much appreciated. :(

you dont wana know lol

first thing get the car as high as poss a lot easier to work.

its a easy job really but pick a good day if we get one started snowing when i did it.

i didnt remove the crossmember as it was a bugger to relase the bottom ball joint so just dropped it and left them attached.

removed the o/s driveshaft then it was more or less easy, if you can get help even if it just to pass you tools or pull on things, i did it alone so most of the time i was under it then out to the sides then under, you can see where i'm going with this.

in the end i was out there about 8 hours which would have been half that if i had help or it didnt snow lol
good luck

dean
