P38A Repeatable EAS glitch near Cherwell Services . . . .. . .and Covid discussion

Got a strange EAS oddity. Heading north to Birmingham on M40 doing 70mph on cruise control the car was nice & steady with no problems.

Then suddenly, about a mile before J10, Cherwell Services, the EAS faults & goes into soft-fault mode. Suspension still seems to be adjusting itself, but gets stuck with the four LED's lit up on the height switch.

Then it did exactly the same this afternoon on the return journey. I had the same behaviour a few months back on a trip to Buckingham at exactly the same spot on the M40 in both directions.

It seems the EAS doesn't like that stretch at 70mph !!

I suspect it's the road. My sensors are fine at all other time. That particular bit of road seems to make the car oscillate up & down quite a bit, so I think the momentum is making the car bounce up or down whi8le the ECU is adjusting in the other direction. After all we know the ECU isn't quick enough to allow for cornering to be levelled.

Try lane 3
1&2 have lorry tram lines in them.
But I thought it was only on the north bound side?

Here's one for you. All sensors replaced and calibrated.
At 70mph the rear end would constantly twitch..... I went over everything, the height settings on different surfaces and to no avail...
I changed the driver pack for one @Datatek had repaired for me and poof..... No issues at any speed.
It would only. Twitch at around 70mph/110kmh in motorway mode and never in normal height at the same speed....

An old mate of mine, now deceased had a new Ford Granada and it would start misfiring on the motorway when it rained. The main agent 's workshop manager told him "don't drive on the motorway when it rains" :rolleyes:

Visit any time you like as long as you are Covid free, not on Fridays though. Did a full overhaul on the MR2 front callipers, for a car weighing 975Kg they are massive. With no binding brakes, the T-VIS system and 4 cylinders working it goes like stink, I'd forgotten how quick it is.:eek:

Just worried about what your kids may bring home from school especially as the figures are ramping up again. Looks like it's going to be a bad winter:( I'm not vaccinated and Grace had her's so long ago she might as well have not bothered as after 6 months or less according to some reports, the vaccine in ineffective.

I wouldn't say ineffective but in older people (especially men over 60 years) it is below 50% effective. Estimates from Iran and Brazil where they've had somewhat of a sh!tstorm seem to imply immunity from natural infection lasts about 16months and that's usually better than the vaccines. The mRNA ones seem to fade faster but then they typically had less side effects in the first place so maybe that was expected.

You do start to wonder why they were attenuating wild coronaviruses in the first place. The ideal illness for pharma is something that with regular drugs keeps you alive for a long while. Many, many years ago a mate working in pharma said he wouldn't have put it past his company to deliberately release HIV in order to have a drug market and then a mutation (back?) made it worse than they ever imagined and the genie was out the bottle. He just couldn't work out how enough transfers from chimps to humans could have occurred to get it going.

Now you look at Wuhan. I think we have to accept it was an accident but it has certainly made pharma a lot of money and will do for years to come. But why were they playing in the first place?
