Thinking about tidying up some of the external fittings on my defender. What's the trick to removing the plastic wheel arch extentions and then refitting them? I see they're fastened by some sort of plastic rivet (I presume that the removal necessitates new rivets - what's the magic word I need to type into Google to find somewhere to buy them?)

Thanks.

Craddocks an wot have you sell em. You can re-use the old uns, Remove the rivets by poking the centre plastic pin thing out with summat small an pointy, then squishing the spread out bit on the inside of the arch with pliers or summat an pushing it back through its hole.

Thanks. I thought I was going to have to do something silly and destroy them :D. I'll have a go on one ASAP. Knowing my mechanical feebleness I'll be back here in no time.

The centre pin is about the size of a matchstick only shorter an is just a push fit in the rivet body, once thats out it's just a matter of pushing the rivet out from the back.

I took my arches off once to repaint the body, most of the plastic 'bits' broke so i used cable ties, the arches fitted perfectly, a bit fiddly to do though.
