removing tailgate freelander 2 td4

I need to remove the tailgate on my freelander 2. I can see the bolts etc, but can anyone tell me if the plugs for the electrics are in the tailgate, or in the headlining? I don't want to remove the headlining only to find the plugs to seperate the tailgate from the car are in the tailgate behind the trim.
