Put the speedo cable into the drive & try to turn it,Hi, thanks for the replies. The speedo has stopped working, the cable is good and the speedo. The gear must by knackered
And put the drill in reverse. Also Put cable back into clock & put other end in driller pulse it to see if it works
Oh yes.. you don’t want to add extra milesAnd put the drill in reverse.
No, they run backwards. I’m putting 4K miles on a replacement speedo clock and drive everywhere with the cordless drill running in reverse. I’ve already put 2k miles onOh yes.. you don’t want to add extra miles
I had a police calibrated speedo but these have no mileage counters on them . Was fun for years at mot place when they asked me for the figuresNo, they run backwards. Can also confirm they run reverse. Just be thankful you are only putting 4k on yours. I spent 6montha with a mains drill adding 65k to mine to match the mileage after the fire! No, they run backwards. Can you not take the front glass off?I have been watching ebay for a while and this one came up which is the closest I’ve seen. I’ve got it running on an old cordless drill in the Landrover with me. I have a band on the trigger but it only does 10 miles at a time at 90mph before switching off. So I have to keep releasing and pulling again but I’ve got until March when the mot is
I opened the original one. The needle still moved but the mile’s stopped going up. The tenths on the trip must have broken the bit that wound it on. I looked at it but the only way was to dismantle the little gears but I was afraid in case I damaged the replacement one. I hope to be where I want it by the end of JanuaryCan you not take the front glass off?
Or dismantle & use a pin
I had exactly the same issue. I did not want to risk dismantling as I had found one with the highest possible mileage which is he opposite of what everyone is selling, I was aiming for 385k! But had lots of time as was rebuilding after the fire. I bought an 80’s black and decker hammer drill off the Facebook and just had to keep filling it with oil to wash out the carbon dust from the brushes!I opened the original one.
