Removing rivets

Hello!

I'm going to strip down my Series III SWB, for painting and general repairs.
Can someone suggest the best and safest way (to the landy!) way to remove the rivets ? I'm thinking about drilling them, either with a very small drill to cut the inner part of rivet or with a large drill to chop the head off.

Any suggestions are welcomed!

a 6mm drill bit works well.

i use either a 6mm or a 5.5mm (the same one i use to drill no plates)

yer take the head of the rivets but i find sumtimes its better jus to drill str8 down the pin and then push it out with a punch

I'd say drilling the head off is easier...sometimes the rivets will fall out, sometimes they need a bit of encouragement. If that fails then drill out.
