Hello
I am new to this site, I stumbled accross it when looking for advice on why my freelander ( TD4 diesel plate 02) may have died on me!
I think I have narrowed it down to fuel pump problem so I now want to take off the fuel filter and pump to renew them, the problem is I can not seem to get them off please has any one got any ideas how to remove them both.
Thanks
Tonkac

Sorry if you've received this already - I'm in Bosnia Hercegovina and having problems with my laptop.

Hi,

Does your TD4 have the fuel filter under the bonnet at the back corner on the battery side? This is easy, 'clean and simple' to change. You work standing up and it takes 10 -15 mins.

If it's in the later position -it's a bitch. Some crack-pot designer re-located the fuel pump and the filter just forward of the rear wheel arch on the right (driver's) side. This is a dirty awkward job that involves taking the rear wheel off and lying underneath the car with diesel running up your arm.

Like many other owners I'd like a 20 mins or so in a locked room with the designer and my baseball bat!

Let me know where your filter is and we can take it from there.

Regards, Singvogel.
