Hi,
I've just had my 90 stage 3 re mapped with intercooler, down pipe etc. It drives great but have noticed when accelerating just slightly hard there is a single big burst of a black exhaust smoke which I never had before. I'm told this is normal but I have driven other remapped 90's and have never encountered this. Is it right?
Thanx

who mapped it for you?

Thanks Shifty, your exactly right! A puff of smoke (we are still talking exhaust fumes) I could live with but a big belch is not a good look. Is it a case of reducing the fueling a tad? (which defeats the point of chipping) Or fiddling with the maf? Or both?

Have you had it mapped? Or chipped? If its a one off map and its smoking take it back as it won't do t any favours, I've just had my transit mapped by kudos remapping, it dint smoke befor and it doesn't smoke now, depending on how it's been done they may have altered the injector duration to far,

Yeah if it's smoking Tickover to the turbo, if its only a puff as the turbo spools up that's normal on anything that's tuned

Sorry for this late response, but thanks again for all the advice. It turned out to be a faulty MAF. Replaced it and now it's brill!

I persoanlly like the bit of black smoke it adds insult to injury when chavs in their corsa's try to beat you at traffic lights
