I have recently picked up a 2013 Disco 4 with the EGR to throttle housing hoses removed and blanked.

I have a manifold leak on the driver’s side (UK) and at the passenger side EGR blanking plate at the throttle housing.

Is there a quick way to tell if the EGR delete has been correctly executed I.e. EGR hoses removed / blanked, DPF removed and software modified?

My concern is that the EGR blanking plates may have been installed to sell the vehicle, due to the MAF errors arising from the intake manifold leaks. Hence why I am curious to know if there’s a quick way to confirm.

Additionally, I am considering reversing the EGR delete. I recognise this could be a can of worms if the EGR valves aren’t functioning. However, I have a spare throttle housing and hoses to the Egr that I could install. I’m not sure if the DPF has been gutted, but understand I might have to replace that. I’m not sure about reprogramming however.

Whilst the prevailing view may be you’re better off without, I am curious as to how MOT Special Notice 0323 might be implemented. There’s a line in respect of certain Land Rover models including the Discovery 4 that reads “You must remove cosmetic engine covers if they can be easily unclipped.”

Thanks for any informed feedback the forum can offer.
