If it's been permanently exported you don't need to register it in this country.
Once it's on the quayside it's on private property (or at least not on the public road) so doesn't need tax etc. Same applies to boat. You might look into insurance though - perhaps you can insure it as freight.it would be cheaper to get a recovery firm to collect it and deliver it to the port. why not look in yellowpages for one from the same town as the ferry port and ask them to do it as a back load when they are in the area. you may need to give them a wide range of collection dates though
I said tax ETC. You may assume the etc is the reg. Why not ask the ferry company then?i never ****in mentioned tax. i was referring to the registration of the vehicle ffs
