Hi,

There's probably a really obvious answer to this, but after an entire day trying to find it, I realise I need some help please !

How do you refit the upper (grey) fascia trim ?

I've refitted the lower dash; connected up the heater cables, connected up the demister tubes and now need to refit the upper fascia (as per p541 of the workshop manual). But there's no way it will go in - the bit that covers the passenger demister tube extends beyond the front of the dash (see photo). If I rotate it by 90 degrees, that bit will go in, but I can't rotate it back in place because vent levers are in the way.

Does anyone remember how they got this back in place ?

Thanks for any help.

I tried that - but if you loosen the lower dash enough to get it in, the demister pipe comes loose and of course you can't refit it once the upper fascia is in place (as you can't access it). However, I did resolve it in the end.

Just in case someone else has the same challenge, I removed the first part of the passenger vent lever, then with some force, I could rotate the upper fascia into position. Then I reconnected the vent lever via the access at the top (I haven't fitted the top of the dash assembly where the ash tray goes yet).

Sorted ! Thanks for your support.

This is the way to do it although you don't need to remove the vent leaver first. once the dash top is removed with a bit of maneuvering, some twisting and careful force you can remove and refit without removing anything else. I have done this a few times.

Thanks ! TBH, I'm amazed you can get it in with the vent lever in place. Even with no lever it was a squeeze ! But thanks for the reassurance - I'm just relieved it's in.

Thanks again.
