Has any contributor experience of the commercial recovery boards, e.g.: Maxtrax or Muputrax? Not able to afford a winch yet so these may be useful until I can. Like the multi use of the Muputrax!

Front bumper winch mount: I've read peoples comments re mounting a winch. I'm unsure if these are commercially available in the UK, couldn't imagine they are in NZ. So is anyone willing to share plans / drawings with me? I have a '98 FL1 K series 1.8.
 
My winch is apparently getting delivered tomorrow. I will be building my own mount for it as I am unable/unwilling to spunk out a load of money on one.

User Metacaibo (or something like that) on here made a batch of smart looking ones that he sold for £300 or so each.....laser cut, powder coated etc. I will be making mine in the garage with a MIG welder, grinders etc probably from scrap steel.

I will be doing a thread about it, but it will be a few days before I get stuck into it.
 
Be careful of the waffle boards. Some list their size. Some don't and they're little toy ones.
 
Some in the link I posted are 1220x310x50mm, how big do you want them?
Your in New Zealand though so postage might be a tad high.

If they're that size then they're ok. Some are for use with models at the same price but 1/10th of size.
