Despite spending the last 30 minutes searching I'm not having a lot of luck.
All I need is a decent swing away carrier for reasonable money as my rear door is starting to complain.
Any recommendations regarding make and where to buy?

I know I've seen this asked many times but just can not track down the threads. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

Cheers

You can keep the old mounting plate on the door..... just cut the bolts that hold the wheel as close to the plate as you can... saves fooking about fitting the flimsy ones that come with it and a coat of hammerite to tart it up. You wont see it once fitted

I paid £45 for mine didn't open with the door but had grease nips. good thing was ya could drill thru plate and fit a padlock which made it impossible to open back door

dunno what make this is but it mounts to the bumper and body and swings away with the door, wernt too bad to fit

I would also recommend the Paddock carrier that's attached to the door (not the cheap swing-away one - it's a pain in the backside).

You might want to check out the inside of your door, it basically attaches a couple of reinforcement struts to the inside of the door-frame (just whack them on with a hammer and then pop-rivet them) and then you drill through the door and put the mounting plates for the carrier. Only problem I had was a I replaced the door on the back of my Series and the new one instead of being divided into 1/3s has the struts in the middle of the door closer to the hinge.

I've yet to decide how to solve this - or I might just put the carrier onto the new 110 I'm picking up next week...
