Hi
Cheers sean, my main concern is the distance from the tub brackets to the tubular out rigger(lr90) and making sure its level all-ways. I removed the loom 1st and so far it taken me 2 days getting it where it is now. I bought xmem with the extra bits, and i measured measured and measured some more befor i cut the olden off. was confident about the level of the 'tub rests' as its level across there and i got a measurement from tubular fixing and the xmem fixing. BUT after i cut it off and was getting it in position to weld, i found the xmem 'tub rest' bit on the new xmem were totall different sizes! adhereiing to god knows what blue print but obviously not lr90, so i have lost my level across the 'tub rests' (the chasis is level btw) but i got a level on the flat section of the rxm both ways and its the right distance from the tube outriggers.
Am i being to precise? as i figured i got a few mm leeway in the x10 tub fixings so long as its square getting it level is fairly easy. Hmmm gonna check out those links now bet all in in there and should shudit:blabla:

Read the instructions now:D and i see how you can get it in position, but thats all good if you still got the tub on..aaah i ahve a bare chassis how can i make sure my levels are right what if i make te overall chassis to long or to short:eek: I might end up with a lr89.5..lol..:D
Any one know the precise measurememt from: INSIDE edge of the rear xmem bracket(2nd one from the outside) to the OUTSIDE edge of the of the tubular out rigger(tapemeasure in the little square hole)
I think not. I reckon i will make it a few mm longer than what i measured that way i can 'pack' the x10 fixings:eek:

you have to remember that these chassis arent a precision item so a few mm is to be expected - in fact if you get things lined up to within a few mill your doing very well

if you've lost your level you can always clamp the new xmember in and trial refit the tub then tack the new member - off with the tub again to let you complete the welds

oh and the other thing to do is to compare tub mountings and other measurements between the old and new member as if they arent close (as is the case with some) you've got bob hope of ever getting everything lined up correctly

some degree of modification should be expected especially with the cheaper members

Cheers sean, think i will try the tub on off option. that is the sure fire way to align it. I have given it some distance for a few days. I am gonna check those mounts now you mention it, if the cant bloody measure the tub rest right they aint gotta ope in ell of gettin rest right! Welders eh? Wish i could weld well, then the world would be my oyster! then i wouldnt have to wait to get all my welding welded also.
nice 1 sean
