Hello all,
As some of you know I just bought a new L322 (2005) pre facelift (ish)
Anyway im systematiclaly going through bits that were broke, so far sorted the damage to the bumper got a new one off ebay locally in the same colour including 1 parking sensor that I believed to be broke for £50! Bargain. So thats done, managed to suss the passenger seat not working to a faulty switch pack, was all set to buy one when I thought id just pull it apart and see if there was anything obvious, couple of dry looking joints on the connector for the power, desoldered all of them and then cleaned em up relfluxed em then re soldered and whaddya know it works again! So thats all good. Next thing im moving onto is the Rear wiper motor, basically its just inoperable at the moment. I dont have much resistance to speak of when i try to manually move it and there is power at the connector when i tested with meter. What I wanted to know is does anyone know which terminals id have to supply with voltage to test the motor itself? I do suspect a faulty motor to be honest but at £150 I wanna be sure. When I took of the interior plastic trim that surrounds the motor its full of brown rusty water looking stains so im suspecting frozen pipe that has at some point burst and soaked the motor which wont have done it any good but best to be 100% sure.
One other thing is that although the motor doesnt work wouldnt the jet still spray water out? As it doesnt at the moment but I thought maybe the ECU that controls all this would not tell it to spray if the motor was faulty??
Thats it for now next thing is get the Fuel Burning Heater to work before the real cold weather sets in, just had a look in the boot compartment and it seems I already have the receiver fitted and plugged in but I never got a remote so I just ordered one of eBay brand new for £20 seemed like a bargain. I did try the timed climate via the dash computer screen but it just seems to vent and not fire up the heater then again ive read it needs to be >5 degrees??? Anyway ill deal with that once i get to it.
Cheers
