Our rear window is barely lowering enough to open the door. It rubs on the seal. Once open I can push it down another 10mm. It closes fine if push it down. Might there be something loose or needing a grease? Anybody had something similar before I go poking around? '03 td4

Its most likely a kinked cable on the regulator.Best get the door card off asap and whip out the regulator and check for damage. The cable has probably got caught up in the motor winding mechanism.

I've had a look around. The motor power lead had rubbed on the door and broken the insulation, I guess it must have earthed out. No other noticeable damage. No fuses blown that I can see. I've taped it up and re-calibrated but it still rubs on opening, The window wont stay partly open either, either fully up or fully down. Running out of ideas??

when you had the door card off, you can see the two clamps that hold the glass, try adjusting them slightly, also, lubricate all the pulleys on the lift mechanism while it's off.

finally, try recalibrating the window, not unknown for it to slip out of calibration.

good luck
