Rear Wash/Wipe Problem...

Hi again everyone,
ok, another question (thank goodness for this forum, lol!). While out on a journey to Stansted and back today I found out the rear washer jet didnt seem to work (one of the things i guess i must of forgotten to test when i was looking at buying her) leaving my back screen covered in that kind of salt/dirt nastyness. I press the button on the wiper stalk and I can hear what sounds like a pump working but no water is coming out, the wiper is however working fine making a nice smeary salt mess all over my back screen!! Any ideas on this one?? I have checked rangerovers.net and suggestions for washer jet problems are for the front of the vehicle only. By the time I got home this evening it was too dark to check if the nozzle is blocked so will check that tomorrow but if not how does the water get to the back exactly?? I guess it comes from the reservoir at the front of the car?? If so what path does it then take to the back of the vehicle?? Any suggestions people??

I can sympathise as my rear wiper is now completely dead after I took the motor to pieces to try and fix it! Haven't gotten around to buying a new motor yet, but it is horrible on a long wet journey with no rear wiper.

Hope it is a blocked jet. Otherwise, check the non-return valve [10], after that I don't envy you tracing it through the system!

Hi, make sure that the water is not coming out somewhere else such as into the boot from a fractured pipe. Sounds like a blocked jet or a blocked pipe. Whip the trim off and get to the pipe behind the jet and see if that gives water. If so then just take the jet out and clean it or replace it.
 
thanks for the replies so far everyone. the nozzle seems fine and the pipe to it is connected and fine so i started tracing the pipe back through the car as shown on the diagram. when i tried to check the non-return vavle in the boot space area i removed the panel that lets you replace the bulbs in the rear light cluster. i found a white plug (which i guess is to do with if you add a tow bar and associated electrics) and it was wet, wasnt lying in a pool of water but was just wet. i then did the rather un-scientific thing of shoving my hand down into the area where the wires came from and could feel that the chassis of the vehicle was wet, again, there was no pool of water anywhere but they were wet to the touch and smelling the water confirmed it was washer fluid. at this point i had to finish up and put things back toghether as i had to go and do other things but i am guessing i have a blocked pipe or return valve or maybe the pipe has actually come off of the return valve?? im not totally sure. how easy is it to take out the interior boot trim?? all screws seem to be well hidden away. i have the harmon kardon sound system so i guess i will have to remove the cd changer and sub from the back before i try and remove the trim but once past that stage then where do i go, what screws should i look for??

I'm ****ed too, I missed out on a PSI tuning box today - went for £100 on eBay - I forgot to bid! I don't actually want to run it long term, I just want to know what all the fuss is about so I can pass comment having tried one!

Still, probably best I didn't spend the money, I need 4 new tyres soon :( - I still haven't replaced the duff one that's in the boot yet! Here's hoping I don't get a puncture :(
