I could do with a hand lifting a rear tub off a s3 swb, and I'm in the Brighton area. I thought the title said it all,, but its Sussex, near shoreham. Unlikely to get a response, but thought I'd try :D

Remove as much as possible, i.e. roof and sides, make sure seat box is undone, lift up each corner one by one and put it on blocks, watch for the central cross member too and then slide it backwards

Or if everything is removed you can also just tip if off the side using some long bar and some tyres to catch the tub when it falls, a tree and some long rope can also be used as a hoist

Ok, its off, now just in the way! :)

Went off the back in the end. I'll start a rebuild thread at some point and get some pics up.

Thanks for your help.

You can do it yourself, they're not heavy

mine is in it's lightest form right now, i.e. no cappings floor or lights etc and it's a real pain to lift, the weight is just about ok but actually manoeuvring it to a position where i can take the full weight is hard,

i wouldn't want to try a fully laden on, especially if it's a first time move with rust and grime!

best advice i can give for putting it back on is to lift the back end and sit a length of 3x2 timber on top of the chassis crossmember to clear the rear fixing tabs then drape some old carpet over that then stand on the chassis where the seatbox was and just slide the bugger off the back end till it stands upright

then just walk round it and get yer shoulders under the seat back bulkhead lean forward and walk ( ever seen ninja turtles ):D:D:D

I think I'll just organise another pair of hands to get it back on!

Thanks for the feedback. Tub needs some steel repair sections under the rear floor (any idea what they're called??) and its corroded through in a few spots in the floor plate so a new one if them, not too bad I guess?

Still need to start a build thread....
