It won't fit as I think you will find the fuel filler is at the back on the TD5/TDCi and at the front of the 200 tub. Unless you plan of moving the fuel tank.

Fitting a newer tub onto an older chassis is possible.
My 90 ( MY 87 ) has a TD5 tub, but with the fuel tank under the drivers seat.
I am sure if you search , someone has written about it on here.

In short, yes.
But you will either need to fit a rear plastic tank, or re-route the existing pipework to the rear filler.
I have done td5 tub on my 200tdi 90, and have gone with the rear plastic tank, but I have seen pipework re-routed before and it does the job.

Sorry to hi-jack this thread but was wondering if you could tell me what you had to do to alter the td5 tank to work with the 200tdi? Read that the td5 tank has a pump in the tank where as the 200tdi tank doesnt.

That is correct, you need a new sender, part number WQB100430.
This is the ROW spec pump, similar to the td5 ones, but without a pump and only an inlet and outlet.
Ah brill, just a case then of extending the lines and wiring. Cheers for that bud.

Hi Tom all went well apart from the gearbox is still clonking so will have to sort that
I'll be doing mine in about two weeks, getting recon... Just need to find a reliable source first
