Hi All and a Happy New Year.
Now I know a lot has been said about this subject but please bare with me.
I own a very nice 2003 Serengeti TD4 Automatic but I want a newer Facelift model instead and I have a chance to buy a 2007 HSE TD4 with just 130K on the clock which is also in very good condition Except it"s missing The Rear Prop. Should I just walk away or else how much will it cost to replace everything to bring it back to a 4x4? They have offered me £750 for my Car without even seeing it so should I ask for more.?
Help and Advice Please

You only have to look at Bell Engineering website. IRD £600, VCU £185, support bearings £50 plus maybe rear diff £350 plus some mounts for it. Plus a set of props with flange bolts, support bearing bolts and vcu (for exchange) from a breakers.

So you are talking about £1300 plus £400 for vat and shipping plus fitting if you don't do the work yourself.

Walk away
Depends how nice the car is and how much they want for it.

The sums can be done to work out what cost replacement transmission will be.

It may take the price up to a early F2, but what condition will that be in? OP may prefer an F1 anyway.

My IRD was smashed in 2013, but I rebuilt it and car has given 9 years great service since. I rebuilt it as 2WD but if its rebuilt 4WD it should be fine.

Of course, for the additional costs, OP may prefer to stick with current car.

A 2007 could be a FL2, as that was 18 months after the FL1 became unavailable.
Be careful as the last of the FL1 automatics were seriously expensive to tax (RFL), like £550 or there abouts.

If it is a FL1, and the condition is generally good, and you don't mind paying high RFL, then all the above advice is perfectly acceptable to follow.
