I've damaged my rear prop with a bit of overly spirited off roading. As you can see, the rubber doughnut is toast. There is also some slight twisting to the bolt holes on the flange. I'm assuming this should be flat? Can it be straightened or is the prop toast too?

Surprised that you have not got a reply back!

Looking at your picture/s you should be able to replace that part! Have seen couplings for sale from £25+ (TVF100010)

Kev

Hope this was useful for you??

Replacing the donut isn't the issue, he is worried about the slight twist in the flange/ears on the end of the prop.
I'd be tempted to put it in a vice and try to straighten it, but others would say that is tempting Fate!

So the gospel answer is going to be "replace it" I should think!

Good one!
Just keep the old one, muck around with it, see if you can straighten it using a vice and its own length as a lever.
Then you'll have a spare!;)

I'm actually having trouble getting a prop because of the delivery charges. Might be putting my old one back on yet. Either that or pay more than the price of the prop for delivery. It's effing annoying.

TBH, seeing as how you are now, I'd get a new doughnut and tweak the prop ears. The doughnut will allow for a bit of it not being perfick.

Strange, I have just been on the website,to ship a replacement propshaft kit to my home, is less than £10, as its only 8 kg, so how much more is it to get to your home

Some companies wont ship to an island like the Shetlands....

Make sure you apply a lot of heat onto the ears, when you bend them...

"Highlands and islands" postage is generally more than mainland destinations due to the remoteness (and Shetland is as far away from the UK mainland as you can get) and logistics of getting stuff there. Especially so with large/heavy items.

I've actually found one at a reasonable price now, £20. It's still not a lot less than the cost of the prop but needs must.

You need to make friends, with a crew member, who lives in the Aberdeen side of the service, who can handcarry it over on the ferry, for a dram or 2
