Hi all,

The interior lights don't come on immediately when the rear passenger door is opened. There is usually a 3-5 second delay and sometimes they'll go off again while the door is open.

Is this a sensor/switch inside the door? If so, is it accessible by simply removing the door card and is it serviceable or a replacement only job?

Cheers.

Ahhh now this was my first job when I got my FFRR and it was indeed the door lock. BTW, does the suspension work as it should or do you get a 'door open' message at any time? Looking at the lock I'd say it is not serviceable.

However, I managed to buy a NOS item for about £50.00 and fit it and everything works as it should. The job took about 45 minutes so it is not difficult but removing the door card was a little tricky but it all went back together and i has NO spare screws at the end.

I hope this helps?

regards

NOS system Nitros oxide should power your door lock to an 8 sec 1/4 mile

Before you rip your door card off just have a look at the light fitting may be a poor fitting bulb of dodgy wire in there... mine did the exact same thing until i swapped for some new bulbs now its fine every time.. just a thought

If it's only on one door it must be the microswitch. When I serviced my locks I found what I assumed to be the original grease had stiffened over the years. It sounds as if this might be your problem with the grease causing the switch to stick. A strip down, clean and re-build might be all you need.

Yep, it's just the one door. All others operate fine with the lighting.
I'll add this to the list of niggles to sort then!
