Hi folks, its been a long time but I'm finally getting back to working on my Series 3. Hope all has been well at landyzone!

After 6 years of shuffling it around my S3 is now arse first in my garage so I'm taking the opportunity to sort out the rear end.

I've found two extra holes for on the back of the tub for rear lights, these are both inboard of the indicators and are the same round shape and size as the standard Series ones. Does anyone know if these are standard for some optional light fittings? I've seen a few pics of non UK spec landy's with two reversing lights on each side in the same position but I have no wiring for reversing lights...

Just wondering if these are factory drilled holes or not really. I'll chuck up a pic once the camera's charged.

Id guess reversing lights as I've seen them situated there before. I thought some CSW had these on more recent s3 models but still optional extra.
My guess would be that these were an addition made by a PO.

Thanks, yeah I think they are just a PO's work. I cant seam to find any thing else that would fit!

My master plan for the lighting is to fit additional tail lights to help make to landy more illuminated at night. I've taken two roof mounted tail lights of an old yellow Post Office hard top I've got and will copy the mounting position of these. Also I've swapped the indicator and existing tail lights around and I'll add another stop/tail unit beside the orignal one in the extra hole.

a pair of Post office roof mounted tail lights, freshly liberated (a wire brush and a polish up and they are working fine after at least 25years of disuse)

indicator is now below the stop/tail and i'll stick another stop/tail unit next to it, i've already found some units, I've just to get a set of red lenses. The Post Office unit will replace the spotlight. That'll give me 4 brake light units and 6 tail lights! Hopefully stop anyone with ****e headlights not seeing me! :D
